Sirius Black’s wand 005 (Walnut)

Wrongfully imprisoned in Azkaban for the murder of Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black is Harry Potter’s godfather.

The photo with the black background is taken from my book which has photos of the original wooden hand-made wands made for the films from number 3 onwards and my hand-made copy is hopefully much the same.

Sirius’s wand tapers from a square handle into a length engraved with a trail of circles and dots. The runic symbols along the flattened handle complement the tattoos that ink his body.

There is no reference to the wood used so I have used Walnut for this wand.

The wand handle and turned runic shaft were hand carved and the runic symbols, circles and dots were then enhanced by my wood burning tool.

The wand was finally lightly stained with light oak wood stain and then sanded and sealed and polished.

Executive producer David Barron agrees with Sirius’s warning to Harry “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on.” In the battle in the Department of Mysteries in’ Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix’, Sirius wields hi wand for good in a fatal fight where Bellatrix Lestrange uses the Killing Curse on him.
