Dolores Umbridge’s wand 004 (Silver Birch)

Umbridge is the woman we love to hate 😉

Never without her signature pink, from her lipstick to her shoes, Professor Dolores Umbridge is a proud Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, Hogwarts Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, High Inquisitor, and latterly Headmistress of Hogwarts towards the end of the films.

First seen in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Umbridge appears soft yet is fierce to the core. Actress Imelda Staunton describes her as someone with power . . . but she will hang on to it.” Though she scolded her students for their wand use, she has no problem threatening Harry with the Cruciatus Curse in Order of the Phoenix.

Fit to her stature, Umbridge‘s wand is remarkably short. Its dark wood is fashioned into a tight stacking of concentric rings, punctuated with a pink gemstone in the middle.

There is no mention of the wood used but some have written that Birch wood is appropriate. I have used Silver Birch in this wand however for the purists amongst you.

The pink ‘gem’ is an acrylic sphere stained pink using a glue called Modge Podge stained with a vegetable food dye. It is then super glued into the carefully shaped ends of the two pieces of wood.

Although strong it should NOT be used in sword fights!
