Elder Wand 006 (English Oak)

This wand is made with English Oak as it should be according to the literature.

The runes on the handle were burned in with my pyrography tool.

I have added a picture of the original wand, made for the third film and onwards; it is the photo with the black background.

Albus Dumbledore’s onscreen wand is crafted from English Oak with “wonderful outcroppings of of nodules”, explains prop maker Pierre Bohanna.

It is supposedly inlaid with bone and etched with runes. The word ‘elder’ in this context appertains to the history and power of this wand and does not refer to the type of wood which should be English Oak, as is this one.

One of the most formidable wizards of his time, Albus Dumbledore is best known as headmaster of Hogwarts School for witchcraft and wizardry and founding leader of the Order of the Phoenix.

This wand is the most powerful wand in existence which he obtained by defeating its former master in a duel.

The wand passes on several times but I will leave it there for those of you who may not have read the books or seen the films 😉
