This wand was the most tricky wand I have made to date and the end result is not as perfect as I would like.
So, this wand 001 my first attempt, is at a sale price of £30.00 and the next ones will be priced at £45.00 or possibly more.
Fleur Delacour is the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic Tri-Wizard champion of her school.
There is no mention of the wood used in the original wooden master but I used Indian Rosewood here but I will use Walnut or Mahogany for the next version.
The wand is made in two pieces of the same Rosewood and then securely joined together – the end of the shaft had a 5mm dowel and was inserted into the hand carved handle.
I made the wand in two sections so as to waste as little wood as possible. This wand together with Nymphadora Tonks wand are, for me at least, the two most challenging to make.
Beauxbatons wands come out in grand style among the chic French boarding school girls.
Like the uniforms worn by the girls who wield them Beauxbatons wand are topped with a tasteful flourish.
Fleur’s wand is as elegant and graceful as she is. The handle curves with a flourishing spiral. A luxurious leaf wraps itself along the length of the tapering wand, suggestive of a petticoat or parasol.
